MEMBERS DUTIES
All Members, including Social Members, are required to do one or more duties to help the Club operate. This duty may be in the race hut, as a rescue officer or as a galley helper. We make an exception for those mothers who have very young children.
When renewing Membership, you will be asked which dates you would like. We try to follow your wishes as far as possible but those who reply early will get preference in the allocation of dates. The Club Administrator will then write to you when a date has been allocated to you. If you are unable to be present at the Club on the date allocated you should arrange a swap with another Member who has been allocated the same type of duty.
Please advise the Club Administrator who you have swapped with.
New Members will be sent a duty selection form to complete when their election to Membership is confirmed.
DUTY FINES
Members who fail to show up for their allocated duty will be fined £25. If you can no longer do your duty on your allotted date and have not swapped with another member, you will be fined £15.
The Management Committee have the discretion of waving this charge in exceptional circumstances but may ask you to attend a meeting to state any valid reason for letting down the Club. If the fine is not paid within 30 days, it will be added to your renewal fee the following year. Failure to discharge the fine will result in Membership being cancelled.
