How to Join the Club

Membership Information

Thank you for your interest in our Club. We hope you will find us welcoming and will enjoy being a member of Spinnaker Sailing Club. Ideally, we like to meet every potential new member to show them around,to see what we have to offer, to explain the duty process and other Club matters and answer any questions. Prospective members are welcome to visit the Club at any time. Sundays or Wednesday evenings from April to Sepember are the best days to visit as you can srr racing in action and meet club officers. However the club is open to its members every day of the week if you would like to meet the Club Administrator or Chief Instructor.

Membership runs from 1st January to 31st December.Members of Spinnaker have unlimited access to the Club and its facilities. Sailing is possible from dawn to dusk and it is possible to hire club boats. Members may also book onto any of our training courses at the members' rate. Boat parking may be available and can be requested during or after the application process. Junior members must be accompanied by an adult member and not left alone on site unless part of a training programme.

Although the Club has a small professional staff, the organisation of a busy programme and the on-going management of the Club cannot be undertaken without the input of members. All Club members are required to undertake duties or to contribute time and skills. There is an option to opt-out of duties by paying a fee, but we do not recommend this as duties are a good way of meeting other members and to see how the Club works.. This "opt-out" must be taken out at the time of joining the Club, or at renewal. The opt out fee is not available at other times.

Application Process

Please see the current subscription categories and rates by accessing the attached pdf document. It is also possible to view the rights of each membership category on the website.

To apply for membership once you have decided on the type of membership you require, go to "Join the club" on the website and complete the account set up process. You need to be a member to book any training as we are a members only club.

Once an application has been received by the Club Office we will contact you to arrange payment for your subscription. Your membership will commence on payment.

Please note: Full fees are applicable if you join between February and August. Fees are reduced if you join after August. This is also applicable to boat space fees. There is no joining fee.

Boat Parking

If you wish to acquire a new space, first consult the Club Administrator who keeps the boat park register. Please state what type of boat you wish to berth. Adopted class boats have priority for boat spaces if there is a waiting list..
