It was great seeing so many of our members enjoying the lake over the bank holiday weekend! We've had a brilliant start to the half term holiday courses with plenty of sunshine and wind! The next few weeks continue to be action packed so here are a few reminders about what is planned and a few notices to help everyone get the most out of the club!

Laser Open

Our annual Laser Open is this Saturday! Bookings are open for another couple of days so if you want to join in the fun on Saturday please get your name down! It is sure to be a great day of racing. On Saturday due to the Open running, and a Race Coach course there will be no club equipment available for hire.

Ladies Sailing/SYT/Adult Improvers Groups

You have until the end of the week to sign up for the next block of Ladies Sailing, Spinnaker Youth Training and Adult Improvers! Of special note is our new Team Racing Group on Sunday mornings for SYT! I know several of our SYT sailors are keen to try Team Racing, but we need you to put your names down! For more information please speak to James.

Race Duties

We currently have very few volunteers for Race Duties in July. On Friday this week we will be allocating duties to member's again, so if there is a date you would like to do please get your name down! Remember, without volunteers our race programme cannot run.

New Volunteering System

As announced by the Commodore yesterday our new volunteering system is now live! Many of our members have skills which can benefit the club, and many of our members are also very happy to contribute but cannot make Wednesday evenings/Sunday afternoons due to work/family commitments. This new system allows you to volunteer to complete a job at the club, and then complete this at a time that suits you!

Here is a link to a video explaining how to volunteer. At the moment all the opportunities that you can volunteer for on the website are linked to either gardening/site tidying, racing or bar keeping! If there is something else you think needs doing at the club, or you would like to volunteer to run some training at the club please speak to James or Hywel. You can still volunteer for racing and bar duties in the normal way via the website.

New Boats!

The first two of our new single handed dinghies have arrived! We now have 2 RS Zests, with another 4 on order for delivery in mid-July! These will be a great addition to our fleet and help get more sailing going.

Memorial Race

Next week sees our annual Memorial Pursuit Race running in aid of Macmillan Caring Locally, one of our local hospice providers. To make it a bit more of a social we are going to organise fish and chips for afterwards! With Jonathan Burns as Race Officer, the bar open, and fish and chips it should be a great night!

From Sunday you will be able to go onto the club website, and book that you are attending, and order your food! We will then place a bulk order for the fish and chips and collect it on the night!
