British Youth Sailing Regional Junior Championships 2022!

This weekend Team Spinnaker headed off to Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy for an awesome weekend of racing and games!

You can read about what we got up to, how this event was supported by the Club and some of our memorable highlights including the prizes some of our sailors won here!

Supporting Club Racing

Our club racing programme is a hugely popular part of what we offer our members as a club. Apart from being great fun while racing it is also a fantastic way to meet other members, and learn more about sailing!

We rely on volunteers to deliver our racing programme and we have a number of roles which still need covering in 2022. If you are not sure what you can help with please speak to James, Neil or anyone on the Sailing Committee and we will help you get involved!

Youth Race Camp!

Our annual Race Camp is running 8th - 12th August this year, and is a great way for our junior and youth racers to give their sailing a boost! As Parkstone Youth Week is the following week it is a great chance to have some final coaching before the fun of a week in Poole Harbour!

Sign up for Race Camp here!

Spinnaker Sailing Club Is Now A Sailability Centre!

New Forest & District Sailability have operated at Spinnaker Sailing Club for many years using their Hansas and 2.4mRs to deliver sailing to those with additional needs, helping many individuals to get afloat who may not have been able to otherwise.

Over the past two years the instructors of Spinnaker Sailing Club have been working with a number of educational and care organisations to provide sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding activities to young people who require additional support, particularly those with special educational needs and who need more support in social situations. In recognition of the work the club is doing we have been given the status of an RYA Sailability Centre! This not only recognises what we can offer, but allows us to access additional resources and support from the RYA to give these young people we work with the best opportunities possible!
