Random Pairs Team Racing

With lockdown there has been very limited team racing this year, so we thought it would be fun to arrange some random pairs team racing on Bank Holiday Mon 3 May starting rigged and ready at 10.30. Entry will be via Sailing Club Manager & we will be restricting entry to 14 boats. Schedules need to be prepared so there will be no entries on the day.

Random pairs team racing is very simple, two randomly chosen teams of two boats and the team with the last boat in a race loses. It is also great fun and very friendly because your opposition in one race might be your team mate in the next.

There will be no entry fee. A club Firefly can be hired for £20 per day (junior teams competent in Fireflies are free) and we ask sailors to commit to £200 damage responsibility. We would hope and expect not to call on this but it focuses sailors on avoiding collisions!

So all you need is a helm or crew and a Firefly to have a fun day team racing.

Anyone who wants to help would be very welcome either on the Race Team or if you know your rules, as an Umpire.
