DESCRIPTION:Youth Team Racing Academy  Winter 24/25There has recently b
 een a great increase in interest in team racing amongst older Junior/yo
 unger Youth sailors on the south coast. Following several enquiries, an
 d sailors asking how they can get involved in more team racing we are v
 ery excited to be offering a series of 5 days coaching/training in team
  racing at Spinnaker Sailing Club this winter!Across the 5 days we will
  be looking at how team racing works (including the all important scori
 ng system), a greater knowledge of the rules (including Appendix D), an
 d an introduction to and development of tactics and strategy both boat 
 vs. boat and team vs. team. This programme will be run using Spinnaker 
 Sailing Club's 12 Fireflies, with spaces capped at 24.It is expected th
 at sailors will be competent open meeting racers with a solid knowledge
  of fleet racing and be able to sail a double handed boat, it is envisa
 ged that sailors will be 14 or older to be able to fully engage with th
 is programme due to the boats in use.For those sailors with little expe
 rience of Fireflys there is a Class Training Day running at Spinnaker S
 ailing Club on Saturday 26th October which will include a group looking
  at an introduction to Firefly sailing.The dates of the coaching are:Sa

 Saturday21st December Saturday 25th January Saturday 22nd February Satu
 rday 22nd MarchTo take part in this programme sailors must be members o
 f Spinnaker Sailing Club (a winter training membership is only £30). E
 ach session will then have a fee of £25 to cover the costs of the coac
 hes and use of boats.
