Poole Harbour Sail Away

We are planning an away day on Poole Harbour on 13 September, departing Poole YC around 1030.

This is a social sailing and cruising day for all the family. No rescue cover is provided, but we will be sailing together to look out for each other.

James has negotiated launching at Poole Yacht Club. The plan is to cruise together westwards for lunch at Rockley and then to return together. The date is set for when the tides serve to take us westwards to Rockley and again later in the day to speed our return journey. Faster boats may choose to cruise to Rockley after circling Brownsea Island or explore the western regions of the harbour beyond the Arne peninsula.

We will launch a RIB to take spare clothes, picnic food etc to and from Rockley, however we will not be operating rescue cover, you must plan to be self-supporting. This allows the freedom to explore the harbour yet still enjoy help with launching etc.

You will need to arrange transport for your own boat. There will be no club charge for the event, however Poole YC will make a launch charge of £15 (including parking) which we will collect via our website. Sailing dinghies below 4.5m are exempt from harbour dues.
