Our Training Centre
An RYA Recognised Training Centre
Spinnaker Sailing Club runs a varied training programme aimed at all ages and abilities, which is delivered by our team of RYA Instructors and Coaches. As an RYA Recognised Training Centre, we are inspected annually to ensure we continue to meet the high standard and expectations of the RYA. This inspection covers aspects such as our equipment and standards of instruction and safety.
We are able to deliver certificated training in dinghies, windsurfing, powerboats, and the shorebased MCA Accredited RYA First Aid course to our members and affiliated groups. The RYA Training Scheme is recognised as being world leading, and we can offer courses for every level through the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme, RYA National Sailing Scheme (for adults and older teenagers), and RYA Powerboat Scheme.
RYA Instructor Training
Amongst our team of staff and volunteers, Spinnaker Sailing Club is fortunate to have two RYA Trainers and Centre Inspectors. This allows us to run RYA Instructor courses, and also aids us in maintaining our high standards both in safety and Instructor ability and knowledge.
Club Training Programme
Spinnaker Sailing Club strives to support members in learning to sail, helping them grow in skill and confidence and allow them to enjoy water activities safely. Alongside our array of RYA Certified courses, we offer a varied programme of non-certificated training, that is designed to complement the RYA courses, and encourage regular participation, and higher skills development.
