Why Spinnaker is great for sailing and water sports.

Welcome to Spinnaker Sailing Club's website.

We are an inland water sailing and water sports club based at Blashford Lake near Ringwood in Hampshire on the western edge of the New Forest. Our lake was originally a gravel pit and then a Wessex Water reservoir. It has now become an area of great natural beauty and part of the 189 hectare Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve.

Being inland means that we have a very safe and convenient environment for sailing, with no tides or commercial shipping and where you can sail all year round. Our comfortable clubhouse looks out over the sailing area and is very close to the slipways. All this makes Spinnaker a great place to learn sailing and a wonderful location for children to sail.

Dinghy Sailing

Spinnaker is well known as a Team Racing club, but also has an extremely active club dinghy racing scene and a Royal Yachting Association recognised training section. The lake is particularly suited for teaching children and beginners the dark art of sailing.

The beautiful surroundings of the lake make it a great place for kayaking and we have a number of Kayaks available to hire.

Stand up paddle boarding

We welcome members who want to paddleboard or learn to paddleboard. We have a fleet of new SUPs that are available for hire.

Spinnaker is a safe and convenient place for inexperienced surfers to hone their skills and for beginners to learn.

Despite our beautiful rural position we are conveniently located not far from the A31 and A338 and in easy driving distance of Southampton, Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Salisbury and Winchester.

Please explore the website and if our Club appeals to you get in touch or come and visit us on a Sunday after 3.00pm.
