Youth Introduction to Team Racing

Team Racing is an exciting form of dinghy racing where races typically last 10 to 15 minutes, with two teams of boats competing to get the best score as a whole! You may come first in the race, but if your team mates are 5th and 6th you don't win!

Spinnaker Sailing Club has a long history of Team Racing, hosting several events every year, and having sent teams of to the Team Racing Worlds previously. This day is your opportunity to get an introduction to this racing format and give it a go!

The morning will be spent looking at how Team Racing works, some of the changes to the rules and the tactics of helping your teammates, all done in a practical manner out on the water! In the afternoon we will put this into practice with some 2-boat team racing (the same format as our Twisted Tube event in November).

To take part in this day sailors should have experience of Club Racing, and some knowledge of the Racing Rules of Sailing. This day will be run using our Club Fevas.
