Autumn Work Party - 28th September

On Saturday 28th September we are having our Autumn Work Party. Between 10am and 3pm we will be asking members to help keep our club looking great by spending a few hours as a team to tidy up the grounds, cut back undergrowth and do a variety of other jobs. Without members contributing time on days such as these the club would not be able to keep on top of our boatpark and grounds.

Any and all help is appreciated whether you can spend the whole day with us or just a couple of hours, any help is brilliant.

Social Sailing

Don't forget we run Social Sailing every Thursday from 10.30 to 12.30. Come and enjoy a sail or paddle around the lake when one of our instructors is available to keep an eye out and run the safety boat. There is no need to book, just turn up.

Repairs to Ivy Lane

Many of us will have noticed the deteriorating state of Ivy lane over the last year, with multiple large potholes and the edges of the tarmac collapsing. There is however some good news! Last week we were informed the council will be doing substantial repairs to Ivy Lane this winter. We have been informed that this will involve some disruption, including road closures between the sailing club entrance and Highwood Lane (the New Forest end of Ivy Lane). However, we have been told access will be available throughout the works via the A338. As we receive more news we will update you.

Schools Are Back

While many of our younger members are grumbling they are back at school, we are very happy this week to be welcoming back many of our regular schools! Yesterday both Ringwood School and Poulner Junior School started their new RYA Courses, meanwhile today we are looking forward to a great afternoon of team racing as Winchester College, Milton Abbey and Bryanston School head out on to the lake in fireflys! We have more schools with us on Thursday and Friday and are very happy to see the lake so busy mid-week. In a few more weeks Wednesday afternoons will see sailors from Portsmouth and Southampton universities heading out for their weekly team training sessions.
