The Memorial Race and Fish & Chips
This Wednesday is our annual Memorial Pursuit Race, followed by fish and chips and a prizegiving for our Wednesday evening racing so far this year!
Fish and chips must be pre-ordered via this link, and orders will be accepted up until 1200 on Wednesday: book your fish and chips here! Fish and chips will then be collected and delivered to the Club for approximately 8.30pm, and the bar will also be open.
As a reminder the race start times this Wednesday are:
- Wednesday A Handicap Race 10 - 17:45
- Memorial Race (Personal Handicap Pursuit) - 18:53
We ask that all those participating in the Memorial Race make a donation in support of Macmillan Caring Locally (more details about this charity and the work they do is below). A donation can be made either on the night in cash, or on the fish and chips booking page via the link above.
Tidying Up Our Club
Over the next few weeks we will be having a tidy up around the site. In particular a couple of dates we would like to highlight are:
Monday 23rd June - We are having some scrap metal collected from the club, so if you need to get rid of an old boom, mast or trolley please speak to the staff team
Wednesday 25th June from 3pm - Grass Cutting mini-work party, biscuits provided to anyone who can help.
Summer Holiday Courses
We have a number of RYA training courses planned over the summer holidays. All our planned dates are available to view on our website calendar. If you're not sure which course is right for you or your children please speak to James or Neil.
Change of Treasurer
As was announced at our AGM in December 2024 Jim Clarke, our treasurer for the last few years, informed the members he would like to step down from the role of Treasurer. Bryan White has agreed to take on the role and over the last couple of months Jim has been handing over to Bryan, and Bryan has now taken the reins fully.
Thank you to Jim for all his work over the last few years, and to Bryan for relieving Jim!
If you would like to become more involved with the running of the Club either on the Main Committee or the Sailing Committee please speak to Phil (Commodore/Main Committee), Robert (Rear Commodore Sailing/Sailing Committee) or James.
