2027 Programme Poll

You may have seen this morning on Whatsapp an update from our Sailing Committee about the discussions and planning which are going on ahead of 2027, and a request for feedback via a poll! We are considering adjusting the order of races on a Wednesday so that the pursuit race is before the handicap race. For more details please have a look on Whatsapp (there's a link to the community at the bottom of this email) or ask a member of the Sailing Committee.

Autumn Work party - Save The Date

On 10th October we will be holding our Autumn Work Party, where we ask as many members as possible to give up a little bit of their time to help maintain our club grounds through weeding, cutting hedges, strimming grass and other maintenance tasks.

Look out for more details nearer the day!

Coach Support for Sunday Racing

For the next 5 weeks one of our instructors will be manning a second safety boat for the first race to offer support, advice and tips on the water to newer racers! We hope this will encourage more sailors to have a go at racing, especially from our SYT Begin to Race group!

Upcoming Open Meetings

We have a busy October looming with three open meetings!
Twisted Tube 17th October - Random Pairs Team Racing in Fireflys!
Firefly Open Meeting 18th October
Optimist Open Meeting 24th October

All three are great days of racing, and club boats are available to use for all 3 as well! For more information about the Twisted Tube or Firefly Open please speak to Ed Morris, or for the Optimist Open speak to James Oborne.

Lake Weed

Ove the weekend a large amount of weed floated up, the majority of which has now been cleared. Can we please ask that if anyone lifts a mark or anchor and it has weight on it to please recover that weed into their powerboat, avoiding it floating for others to sail into.

Our weed clearance boat is ready to again this week if necessary ahead of Wednesday's racing. Please be aware it is limited in it's abiilty to maneovure (especially when carrying weed), so please give way to it at all times!

How to Stay In Touch

Don't forget a really good way to stay in touch with other members is our Whatsapp Community, there are different groups within the community for each of our main classes, as well as the SYT Parents Group and a Kayaking/Paddleboarding Group.
