Lost Property

Our lost property collection has grown dramatically over the last few weeks and we will be having a clear out on Tuesday 9th June, please come and check it before then if you think you are missing anything!

Prizegiving and Fish & Chips Next Week

On Wednesday 10th June it is our annual Memorial Race, followed by fish & chips and our early summer prizegiving! Look out for an email next Monday with more details about how to order your food and the programme for the evening!!

The Memorial Race is raced to raise funds for Macmillan Caring Locally, a local hospice charity who have cared for a number of members.

Rock Up And Race

Rock Up and Race is all about fun, friendly, easily accessible dinghy racing. This week's session is on Friday, a perfect way to start the weekend! We'd love to see a few more people give this session a go, so why not try it this Friday?

Book on for this week's session here!

As Rock Up and Race is a new venture for Spinnaker as part of a wider RYA pilot programme we will be shortly seeking feedback and looking at whether we continue running this session as we have been, or evolve it!

Paddleboard Inflator

As part of our new washdowns station Wessex Water kindly provided us with an electric paddleboard pump, this is located inside the green cabinet at the end of the wash pad. Instructions are inside the door (the third sheet down for the inflator). If you need an further assistance please ask a member of staff.

Can we please also ask that when you have finished using the inflator you put the hose away and replace the cover on the control panel to help look after this fantastic resource.

Spinnaker Youth Training Block 2

SYT Block 2 starts on Sunday 7th June! We have a few spaces left in our Improvers and Beginner to Race groups, book on now to avoid disappointment. An email will be sent to everyone who has signed up on Thursday morning with more details about our plans for this block.

Find out more details and book on here.

Safetyboat Crews - Appropriate Clothing and Equipment

As the water gets busier we wanted to highlight to all our safety boat drivers and crews that when they are on duty they should be ready to enter the water at any time, both in terms of their clothing and the personal buoyancy they are wearing. Whilst it is rare it is necessary for someone to enter the water from a safetyboat it was recently required to assist a sailor. As a general rule inflatable life jackets are not suitable for individuals in a safetyboat, and have been an aggravating factor in previous safety incidents with unfortunate outcomes.

How to Stay In Touch

Don't forget a really good way to stay in touch with other members is our Whatsapp Community, there are different groups within the community for each of our main classes, as well as the SYT Parents Group and a Kayaking/Paddleboarding Group.
