Drought and Fire Risk
Following the Government's message last night asking us all to reduce the risk of fire, the decision has been taken today to ban BBQs and smoking within the grounds of Spinnaker Sailing Club until further notice with immediate effect. This is to reduce the risk of fire during the current hot and dry weather.
This policy will be reviewed as the weather changes and the fire risk reduces.

Club Duties
As highlighted in last week's newsletter as a member's club we are reliant on our member's supporting the club with their time whether this is through racing duties, time on committees and supporting the maintenance of the club grounds as the three main ways of providing support.
For those who race there is a requirement to do 3 race duties per year (Byelaw 32). Other members are encouraged to volunteer to support our race programme (it's a great way to meet other members and learn more about racing if you want to give it a go). Otherwise member's who do not race are asked to spend some time each year supporting the club in other ways.
For more information about duties please either speak to our Rear Commodore Sailing Robert - rcs@spinnakerclub.co.uk or Operations Manager James - training@spinnakerclub.co.uk.
How to Stay In Touch
Don't forget a really good way to stay in touch with other members is our Whatsapp Community, there are different groups within the community for each of our main classes, as well as the SYT Parents Group and a Kayaking/Paddleboarding Group.
