Winter Is Here!

The last week has definitely felt like autumn has arrived, which will make some of our members very excited as more blustery conditions are arriving! November brings a few changes every year to the club which we wanted to make everyone aware of, these are:
- From the 1st November to 31st March anyone afloat (not including in a powerboat) must wear either a wetsuit or drysuit, for full details of the requirements please see our Bylaws.
- As our on-water activities quieten down we may not have staff on site on Fridays and Saturdays, meaning there will be no club equipment available to hire on these days.
- As it gets darker please remember that we must be off the water by sunset each day.

Racing on Remembrance Sunday

This Sunday is Remembrance Sunday. Racing will start at 10am as normal, with a short break ashore to allow us to observe the 11am silence, before we re-launch for the second race.

AGM - Save The Date

Our Annual General Meeting is on Sunday 6th December! Look out for the formal Notice of AGM soon, but in the meantime please put it in your diary. This is the main opportunity for you as members to have an input into the running of your club (apart from joining one of our committees, volunteers are warmly welcomed)!

Fixed Marks

Buoy A is now back in the water. In last week's windy weather Buoy C's chain snapped, luckily Ed has provided us with spares and so it will be back in the water in time for this week's Social Sailing.

RYA and BUSA Women's Team Racing National Championships

We are once again this year hosting the Women's Team Racing National Championships, two fantastic days of close quarters racing! To help us deliver this event we are looking for a number of volunteers, especially to help in the galley and on the start boat. No experience is necessary as we can provide support and training.

You can see more information about the event here.

How to Stay In Touch With Other Members

Don't forget a really good way to stay in touch with other members is our Whatsapp Community, there are different groups within the community for each of our main classes, as well as the SYT Parents Group and a Kayaking/Paddleboarding Group.
