Club Regatta

First of all a massive thank you to Tom, Caroline, Ed and their team of volunteers for running the incredible regatta on Sunday. More than 100 members and guests came together to make the Spinnaker Regatta & Family Fun Day a fantastic success.

28 boats raced in the Sprint Series, including 12 novice racers taking to the start line. Harriet the Hartley completed 40+ laps as competition for the coveted trophies became increasingly intense. The paddle races and challenges produced some of the biggest laughs of the day. The model yachters enjoyed an epic three-hour race session, proving that great racing comes in all sizes!

A huge thank you to everyone who raced, volunteered, supported, cheered and simply came along to enjoy the day. Together you created exactly the kind of inclusive, fun club event we hoped for.

Now for the next date in the diary... Sunday 30 August the Blashford Barrel. If you enjoyed the atmosphere of the Regatta, you'll love the Blashford Barrel. Expect another brilliant day of sailing, socialising and club spirit. See you there!

Keyhaven Regatta

We have been extended an invitation to take part in the Keyhaven Yacht Club Regatta from Saturday 1st to Friday 7th August. There are 3 races on the Sunday, a series of 6 races over Monday to Wednesday, a long race on the Thursday and a pursuit race on the Friday followed by prize giving.

There is temporary storage during the week in the Scout Hut garden adjacent to the Public Car Park.

Upcoming Race Duties

We have a few volunteer slots empty still over the next few weeks in the support of our racing programme, can you help? Supporting our racing programme is a great way to support the club as well as meet other members. Whilst some of the jobs need a little bit of knowledge, the Assistant Race Officer and Safetyboat Crew roles just need someone who is willing to help, and are a great way to learn more!

Please have a look at the duty roster here and see if you can help.

Rock Up And Race

Rock Up and Race is all about fun, friendly, easily accessible dinghy racing. This week's session is on Wednesday, a perfect way to start the weekend! We'd love to see a few more people give this session a go, so why not try it tomorrow?

Book on for this week's session here!

RYA Training Courses This Summer

Are you still looking for activities for your children this summer? We have a fantastic range of courses planned this summer from beginner to aspiring racer there is something for everyone! You can see our full programme here.

How to Stay In Touch

Don't forget a really good way to stay in touch with other members is our Whatsapp Community, there are different groups within the community for each of our main classes, as well as the SYT Parents Group and a Kayaking/Paddleboarding Group.
