Firefly Weekend Report

Our Firefly weekend was a great success, thank you to everyone who made it happen. You can read a full report here.

What's On This Weekend

This Saturday is our annual Optimist Open Meeting. We are expecting over 20 boats to be taking part in 7 short races. We are still looking for 1 x ARO to support this event, which is a great opportunity to learn more about running racing as James is the Race Officer! You can see more details and sign up here.

Then on Sunday we have our autumn 1-Day Series, a pursuit race followed by two handicap races. You can see all the timings on the Race Programme.

Please note the lake will be closed to general on-water access on Saturday due to the Optimist Open.

Winter Is Coming!

We are rapidly heading towards the cooler part of the year, which will make some of our members very excited as more blustery conditions are arriving! November brings a few changes every year to the club which we wanted to make everyone aware of, these are:
- From the 1st November to 21st March anyone afloat (not including in a powerboat) must wear either a wetsuit or drysuit, for full details of the requirements please see our Bylaws.
- As our on-water activities quieten down we may not have staff on site on Fridays and Saturdays, meaning there will be no club equipment available to hire on these days.
- As it gets darker please remember that we must be off the water by sunset each day.

RYA and BUSA Women's Team Racing National Championships

We are once again this year hosting the Women's Team Racing National Championships, two fantastic days of close quarters racing! To help us deliver this event we are looking for a number of volunteers. No experience is necessary as we can provide support and training.

You can see more information about the event here.

How to Stay In Touch With Other Members

Don't forget a really good way to stay in touch with other members is our Whatsapp Community, there are different groups within the community for each of our main classes, as well as the SYT Parents Group and a Kayaking/Paddleboarding Group.
