Welcome to New Members and Pre-Season Social
On Wednesday 3rd April we have our annual Welcome to New Members and Pre-Season Social, a chance for all members to meet each other, find out what is planned for 2024, and get some top tips to help make the most of their membership. We will also have several workshops running around racing to allow our members to learn more.
You can see more information here.
On Monday an email will be sent with the link to pre-order your fish and chips!
RYA National Team Racing Championships 2024
This weekend we hosted our second national level championship event in 9 days! 144 competitors battled it out for the Prince Philip Trophy with Exeter Blue coming out on top, beating the West Kirby Hawks (multiple times winners) in a closely fought best of 3 final!
A huge thank you to all the volunteers who supported this event.
Meet Our New Lead Instructor
Yesterday our new Lead Instructor Caitlyn started work with us. Caitlyn is an experienced Senior Dinghy and Powerboat Instructor who has previously been the Chief Instructor at Aylesbury Sailing Club in Buckinghamshire. Caitlyn has joined our team on an 18-month contract to support our club's instructor led activities including Spinnaker Youth Training, Let's Go Sailing, our RYA training courses and our work with local schools.
It's Summer Time!
Very appropriately with the clocks changing this weekend we are very excited that the club is officially entering it's Summer Season! This means for our members that:
- Club Boats are available to hire 7 days a week
- Club racing every Wednesday and Sunday
- More training activities running for every level of sailor
Club Racing
Easter Sunday sees our 1-day Alice Lisle Series, before we move into Spring Series', meanwhile Wednesday 10th April sees the start of our Wednesday A Handicap Series and Holman Bowl Pursuit Series. You don't need to book or pay to take part in any of our regular Wednesday or Sunday racing so come and join in!
Racing on Easter Sunday will start at 11.30, and the Commodore himself will be your Race Officer!
You can see all the information you need to take part (including the full year's programme) here!
