Pre-Season Updates

On Wednesday 5th April we had a fantastic turnout for our Pre-Season Welcome to New Members and Racing Update!

Lots of important information was shared such as what's in the programme for 2023, details about our new Personal Pursuit Handicap System, and some updates to our Sailing Instructions such as a return to "Two-Turn" Penalties for some rule infringements!

You can see all the updates, and a summary of the evening here.

Youth Courses This Easter

It has been fantastic this Easter to have so many young people out on the water sailing and windsurfing. Our first ever Learn to Windsurf Course started yesterday and it was very nice to see their bright sails adding some colour to a very grey day!

Spinnaker Youth Training

Don't forget Spinnaker Youth Training restarts this Sunday! If you haven't yet booked please do so by Friday! If the group you wanted to take part in is full please email training@spinnakerclub.co.uk and James will see what he can do to get you booked on.

Wednesday Night Racing

Tomorrow is our first scheduled evening of racing on a Wednesday for 2023. Currently the forecast is for some very fruity gusts in excess of 50 mph at 5pm! We are keeping an eye on the forecast but at the moment racing is still planned to run, it may be our Heavy Weather Series kicks in!

Find out more about our Heavy Weather Series here.

Single Handed Class Captain's Race Training

On Saturday 15th April we have our first Class Captain's Training Session of the year. Organised by our Class Captains this training is for sailors of any single handed boats who are over 18 years old and want to develop their racing skills.

Further details can be found here.

Tuesday Evening Let's Go Sailing Is Back

Our adult Let's Go Sailing sessions for adults restart next week. There is something for every level of adult sailor, you can find out more details and book here.

Good Luck Southampton University Sailing Club
