Summer Race Series Update

In proper Summer conditions, Sunday saw racing to round off the Summer Sunday pursuit and Yardstick racing series.

In the Pursuit series for faster boats 35 competitors completed 6 races in generally warm conditions. Consistency proved key and Dick Meredith in the pacy Hadron takes the series over Robert Marshall's Solo and Jonathan Burns' Laser/ Aero selection. The racing saw 6 different winners from 6. In the slower fleet mainly Oppys and Toppers with a record 22 entries Olivia's Optimist prowess and consistency trumped a points tie between fellow Oppys of Lewis and Monty.

In the afternoon Yardstick racing, 44 sailors competed in the faster fleet and some highly competitive individual races and a close leaderboard are the result. Robert Marshall sailed an outstanding series counting a neat row of 2 and 3rds whilst also contributing duties too (keeping an eye on the competition). With the series to the wire, just behind are Ian Hickman in the Radial and Jonathan Burns in Laser/ Aero9. Five others had race wins too.

In the slower fleet 9 competitors oppy, topper and zest competed with Lewis getting a stunning 4 race wins. Topper sailors Max and Matthew podium, and also achieved race wins as did Jasmine.

Next Sunday starts the new series, and of course Wednesday racing continues mid series and its hotting up there.
