Weekly Club News - 20th June 2023

Published 20:16 on 20 Jun 2023
Our junior sailors had a fantastic weekend at Oxford, with toasted marshmallows, hot chocolate, meals out, games of football, frisbee, and a bit of sailing as well!
Sailors from Spinnaker Sailing Club took part in all 3 fleets which were running. We are incredibly proud of all our sailors and what they achieved, some special mentions are deserved for:
- Ava for 2nd placed female in the Topper 5.3 Championship Fleet
- Will for 1st place in the Topper 5.3 Coached Regatta Fleet
- Jack for 1st place in the Topper 4.2 Coached Regatta Fleet
Thankyou to everyone who made it possible for our 15 sailors to take part!
Summer Work Party Saturday 24th June
Don't forget this Saturday is our Summer Work Party! Between 10am and 3pm we ask our members to volunteer some of their time to help manage and maintain the Club's grounds. We have a variety of tasks we would like to achieve including painting the sheds, strimming the grass and tidying up the car park sleepers.
Further details about the work party can be seen here on our website (you must be logged in).
Race Officer and Assistant Race Officer Needed for Sunday 25th June
We are still in need of a Race Officer and Assistant Race Officer for Sunday 25th June. If you are able to fill one of these roles please sign up vai the website. If you are not sure what these entail or would like some extra information please speak to James, Neil or any member of the Sailing Committee. In particular the Assistant Race Officer role is a great way to get a bit more of an insight into how racing works if you're not sure, and a chance to watch what the front of the fleet do to go so quick!
