Let's Go Sailing and SYT Block 2!
As we start the new half term our next blocks of Spinnaker Youth Training and Let's Go Sailing start this week!
Let's Go Sailing returns this evening (we still have a couple of spaces so get in touch today if you'd like to join in), while Spinnaker Youth Training is back from Sunday (and there's still space if you haven't booked on yet)! Please remember there will be no Begin to Race or Improver Racing SYT groups on Sunday 18th June due to the Regional Junior Championships at Oxford Sailing Club!
Memorial Race and Fish and Chips - Wednesday 14th June
Wednesday 14th June see's our annual Memorial Race in aid of Macmillan Caring Locally. We ask that all participants in this race make a donation towards Macmillan Caring Locally either in cash on the evening or via our website.
Following racing we will be having a short prizegiving for our Wednesday Racing so far this season and fish and chips. Look out for an email on Monday with details about how to order your food.
Summer Work Party
On Saturday 24th June we will be having our Summer Work Party, as we ask our members to support each other by volunteering some time to help us tidy up the grounds of the club. We have a range of jobs we wish to do including painting the sheds, cutting the undergrowth, and generally tidying up our environment.
Club Night is Back!
From this Friday (9th June) our Friday Club Nights are back! One of the Club's Senior Instructors will be on hand to help members get afloat, with equipment available to hire until 8.30pm, including our windsurf equipment! Why not start the weekend by bringing your tea to the club and getting out on the water?
It's Sunny and Busy!
Over the last few weeks we have had some fabulous warm weather, and great conditions for all watersports. With this improving weather (and very importantly the lake temperature rising) we are seeing many more members using the lake, including lots of new members which is brilliant to see.
Here at Spinnaker Sailing Club we pride ourselves on having a friendly, enjoyable atmosphere both on and off the water. To help everyone enjoy the Club can we please ask everyone to remember the following points:
- We all have different reasons for using the lake, some of us race, some of us cruise and enjoy the peaceful environment
- Please only smoke and vape in the designated area
- We have a diverse membership across all ages, please consider how others may feel about the way we communicate and talk
