Finally summer has arrived! Warm weather, blue skies, afternoon sea breezes, where has this weather been for the last couple of months! It has been a busy week both at Spinnaker Sailing Club and for the country as a whole!

Covid-19 Update

Following the publication of guidance over the last few days, and a meeting of the Club's Main Committee last night it has been decided that for at least the next month the majority of our Covid mitigations will remain in place to continue minimising the risk to our members, visitors and staff. Mitigations that will remain in place are summarised below:

- Face coverings are to be worn in all communal areas of the clubhouse
- Showers are not to be used, and we encourage members to not use the inside areas for changing where possible
- We will continue to sanitise shared equipment after use
- Spinnaker Sailing Club organised activities will continue to be planned to enable "1 metre plus" social distancing

Full updated paperwork and risk assessments will be available on the club website by the end of the week.

Club Fridays

Don't forget Club Fridays continue to run every Friday evening until the end of August! Take advantage of the slightly cooler evenings and come on down to the club! There is a safety boat rigged, club equipment available to hire and the bar is open! This week Neil is on duty until 8.30pm.

Member's Handbook and Byelaws

Following our recent emailing issues a number of members have not received links to the Member's Handbook. You can find the handbook in the member's area of the club website.

Please also remember we have a set of Club Rules and Byelaws which must be followed when on site. In particular can I please draw everyone's attention to the requirements for wearing a buoyancy aid or lifejacket at all times when afloat and that all under-16s must be accompanied by an adult member unless on a training course.

Club Security

Tomorrow morning the access codes to the clubhouse and car park gets will be changed! All current members will be emailed the codes once they are changed. As always please do not share these codes with others.

Wednesday Fish and Chips

Our next Fish and Chip Supper will be on Wednesday 11th August, more details soon!
