Test and Trace at Spinnaker Sailing Club

Published 20:23 on 17 Sep 2020

Dear Members

As you may be aware in addition to the recent restrictions brought in by the government in relations to gathering, and the new "Rule of 6", the government has also increased the range of organisations that must record all visitor data to support NHS Test and Trace.

In order to support the community in staying safe, and comply with our legal obligations, Spinnaker Sailing Club will require all members to register their attendance at the club via the club website with effect from Friday 18th September. At this time the club is not imposing a limit on the number of members on site at any one time, we are recording those who are present to support contact tracing if necessary.

All data recorded will be held within Sailing Club Manager, our secure information management system, and used solely for the purposes of supporting the NHS' contact tracing system.

All members should "pre-book" their attendance at the club. There is no cut off in advance of the day, so you can register your attendance, and arrive at the club minutes later.

Due to the nature of the booking system members will be asked to indicate whether they are arriving in the morning, afternoon or evening. This will allow us to know who has visited the site during which periods of the day. There is no requirement to record your departure time. Only the "lead person" within each visiting group needs to record their attendance, so if for example a family of 4 is visiting the club on a Sunday, only 1 parent needs to record their attendance, as this is sufficient information to enable contact tracing if necessary.

To support members in using the online system two videos have today been added to the Club's Youtube Channel, providing a guide on how to book a slot:

How to book a slot on a computer/laptop

How to book a slot on your smartphone

Hopefully by following the governments current advice of "Hands, Face, Space" there will be no requirement for this information to be used, but we must all play our part to keep the country going. Can I please ask that all members support this new procedure to enable the club to continue to operate in a safe way.

For those of you who are responsible for Group Memberships such as Scouts and Universities will be contacted separately to discuss how we will be recording the attendance of your groups.

Should you have any questions please do get in touch with me via training@spinnakerclub.co.uk

Stay Safe

James
