Topper Weekend

This weekend saw a great two days of Topper sailing out on the lake with Open Coaching on the Saturday and then an epic Traveller Event on the Sunday. We saw some great sailing across the two days, look out for a longer write up soon!

Save The Date - Pre-Summer Social and Member's Information Evening

On Wednesday 18th March we will be having our annual early season social. Join our Sailing Committee from 6.30pm for fish & chips, drinks and some great information to enable you to get the most out of your membership this year!

You can see more information here!

Spring Work Party

Our Rear Commodore House Ian has a favour to ask. On Saturday 14th March we will be having our Spring Work Party, where we have a tidy up around the grounds to get our club ready for the upcoming season. Look out for more details next week, but we would really appreciate your help on this day.

RYA First Aid Course - Friday 13th March

We still have spaces on our 1-day RYA First Aid Course on Friday 13th March. This is a great opportunity to develop your own skills and learn some life saving skills! This course is also aligned to the Health & Safety Executive Emergency First Aid at Work, so if you need that certificate for work this will also be appropriate!

You can see more details and book on here.

BUSA Playoffs This Weekend

This weekend Southampton University Sailing Club are hosting the 2nd stage of the BUSA Team Racing Championships at Spinnaker Sailing Club. 120 University sailors will be battling it out over 2 days for the chance to sail in the Championship Final in April. One of our members/instructors Jas will also be making a return from University this weekend as she represents Plymouth!

Due to the scale of this event the lake is closed for general activities this weekend, but we would really encourage you to come and watch some great sailing.

Rock Up And Race

We are vey excited to be part of an RYA pilot project this year called "Rock Up and Race"! This is all about fun, friendly, easily accessible dinghy racing. As we move forwards into 2026 we will be running these sessions on Wednesday afternoons and Friday evenings, but our first session is going to be on Thursday 12th March!

You can see more details about the first session here!

How to Stay In Touch

Don't forget a really good way to stay in touch with other members is our Whatsapp Community, there are different groups within the community for each of our main classes, as well as the SYT Parents Group and a Kayaking/Paddleboarding Group.
