Wetsuit/Drysuit Rule

Cooler autumn/winter weather is well and truly here now! Please consider how to keep yourself safe and comfortable whilst out on the water. From 1st November until 31st March each year it is a club rule that anyone on the water (other than in a powerboat) must wear a wetsuit or drysuit in addition to their buoyancy aid.

We would also take this opportunity to urge any duty volunteers to ensure they are appropriately clothed for duties. If you speak to our instructor team they will say they get coldest when sat in the safety boat (not when they're sailing).

Race Officer Gathering

Save the date! Calling all Race Officers we are going to be running a social/end of season wash up for all our Race Officers on Wednesday 26th November. More details will be shortly coming out, but please save the date!

Social Sailing

Don't forget our Social Sailing runs all year (apart from the Christmas break). Join us from 10.30 every Thursday morning for some friendly sailing.

Winter Race Programme

As we move into November we change the time of our Sunday Club Racing to avoid the darker evenings. For our Winter Handicap Series through November/December the 1st race each day will start at 10.30, with the second race straight afterwards.

Please note that for Remembrance Sunday on 9th November the first race will start at 11.15 to allow for everyone to observe the 2 minutes silence ashore, before launching.

Race Duties This Sunday

We are currently short of several volunteers to enable racing to run this weekend! If you are available to help on Sunday please add your name to the Duty Roster. Remember without volunteers we cannot run our racing programme!

How to Stay In Touch

Don't forget a really good way to stay in touch with other members is our Whatsapp Community, there are different groups within the community for each of our main classes, as well as the SYT Parents Group and a Kayaking/Paddleboarding Group.
