Icicle 1-Day Series This Weekend
This Sunday is the first of our 1-Day Icicle Series! Three races are planed from 11.30am so come and join the fun! Please note our new Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions have now taken effect.
Sailing Committee Changes
As we enter 2026 some changes are happening with our Sailing Committee! First of all Sally and Emma are stepping down as our Topper Captain and Optimist Captain/Parents Representative respectively. A big thank you to both of them for their efforts over the last few years supporting our junior sailors. Whilst there are three roles to be filled following their absence we are initially going to ask for a volunteer to replace Emma as Parent's Representative. This is because of the importance of this role in advocating for our junior sailors and helping parents stay informed. For more information about the Parent's Representative role please speak to James at the Club.
We are delighted to also announce that Caroline is joining the Sailing Committee, as a relatively new member and sailor Caroline brings a different perspective to our Sailing Committee and we are very happy to welcome her!
Brave Sailors This Weekend!
There may have been no club racing this weekend, but that didn't stop some of our hardiest members heading afloat! Graham, Joseph, Thomas and Andy represented Spinnaker Sailing Club at the Bloody Mary at Queen Mary Sailing Club on Saturday. Meanwhile 5 of our Topper sailors took part in the ITCA Open Training at our lake over the weekend braving a frozen (literally) lake on the Saturday, and strong winds on the Sunday, great effort team!
Upcoming RYA Powerboat Level 2 Course
Our first RYA Powerboat Level 2 Course of the year is running on 31st January/1st February. This great 2 day course gives you the skills to safely helm a small poweboat, and is the first step towards being able to be the Safety Boat Driver for racing and is one of the pre-requisites for becoming a Dinghy Instructor.
