With the summer holidays here, and the Olympics on it's an exciting time in the world of sailing and watersports with lots going on!

First of all a huge well done to all our Team GB Sailors, who so far have achieved a Bronze, a Silver and two Gold medals at Tokyo 2020!

New RS Zests

The club's fleet of 6 new RS Zests is now fully operational! After a few hiccups in getting our new single handed boats we are delighted that they are all now on site and in use! They will make a great addition to our fleet for training of teenagers/adults and for members to hire!

Club Racer Practice and Social

Due to strong winds last week the Club Racer Practice and Social was postponed to this Friday! Paul Gray is still leading the evening, and you can sign up here! This session is free, but sign up is required to ensure adequate safety cover is in place.

Access to Galley

As previously communicated the front galley area is only to be accessed by club staff, committee members on club business or members performing pre-arranged duties e.g. Bar Server.

This is to protect all our staff and members. As I write this the club has 907 active members! Imagine if everyone tried to use that small space. If while at the club you need to refill a drinks bottle please use either the tap on the outside of the sheds or the belfast sinks in the changing rooms.

Last Minute RYA Course Spaces

We have a few last minute opportunities for members to join some of our RYA Training Courses. The spaces available and links to the relevant booking pages are below:

RYA Adult Level 1 Sailing 14 - 15 August - 5 Spaces (Open to members aged 14 and above)

RYA Youth Stage 3 & 4 Sailing 9 - 13 August - 1 Space

RYA Youth Stage 1 & 2 Sailing 30 August - 3 September - 2 Spaces

Club Racing

Our Club Racing programme continues with great success, and it's brilliant seeing so many different sailors (and boats) taking part! Don't forget any member can take part, young or old, experienced sailor or someone who's just done their Level 1! If you are feeling nervous ask the Race Officer for their top tips, and ask for a red streamer to show other racers you're new to racing.

John our results co-ordinator has published a short write up of some of the recent action which you can see here!

Fish and Chip Supper

Our next Fish and Chip Supper will be on Wednesday August 11th (next week)!

From Sunday you will be able to order your food via the website, and all orders must be placed by 1200 on 11th August. Food will then be pre-ordered from Poulner Fish and Chips and collected at 8.30pm, a perfect way to end an evening of racing! Please remember after selecting your order to continue to the checkout to pay, otherwise the office won't see your order!
