Icy Icicle Series!
During the very cold weather this weekend we had to abandon races 3 & 4 of the Icicle Series as the lake had frozen over! This means the Icicle Series will now run as an 8 race series, with your 5 best scores to count. Thank you to our volunteer team (and Neil from the office) who all showed up to run racing if it was possible, with Neil putting in a great effort to free our powerboats from the ice!
With the recent tragedy near Birmingham of the 4 children who were near an ice covered lake can we please take this opportunity to remind all members and users of Spinnaker Sailing Club of the danger of frozen lakes and waterbodies. Please also consider that while you may not be intending on stepping onto the ice in cold weather our pontoons can be very slippy.
New Years Day Race
As is traditional we will be running our New Years Day Race, with the race starting at 1200! Thankyou to everyone who has volunteered to support this event. Club boats will be available to use, but please remember you will need to fully rig/de-rig including stepping masts on the Zests and Toppers.
The bar will be open after racing!
2023 Membership Renewals
Don't forget if you have an Annual Membership this will expire on December 31st! You can renew your membership now. We all know how December can be one of the more expensive months of the year, so our early bird renewal rate is available until 31st January 2023!

Last Social Sailing of 2023!
Don't forget this Thursday is our final social sailing session of 2022! At the moment it's looking like a very exciting day for sailing, and some of our Optimist and Topper sailors are looking to join now that school is over!
Neil and James will both be on hand to help people get afloat, and help make sure boats are ready for the winter as wet and windy weather has returned!

James, Neil, Candace and all the Club's Flag Officers, Main and Sailing Committee Members wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We look forward to seeing all of you in 2023!
