Save The Date - Fish and Chip Night

Our next after racing fish and chips night will be Wednesday 31st August, which is also the night of the Commodore's Cup! As usual you will be able to order your fish and chips from the Monday, and orders must be placed by 1200 on Wednesday 31st August!

Dropping Water Levels

If you have been to the lake recently you may have noticed the dropping water level due to our recent lack of rainfall and warm temperatures. We ask all members to be aware of the below points with the reduced water levels:

- The black modular pontoons are now sloping where they meet the shore, please be careful to avoid slipping
- Around our slipways a number of lips and anchor points are now more prominent, please be careful to avoid tripping
- Around our powerboat pontoon it is very shallow

Time on The Water Survey

The RYA is currently running a survey looking at how people participate in watersports, to try and identify ways to encourage more participation! We encourage all our members to fill in the survey at the link below, with there also being the chance to win some prizes!

Blashford Barrel Funday and Summer Prizegiving!

Don't forget our annual Blashford Barrel Funday is running on Sunday 28th August! As usual we will have treasure hunts, paddleboard/kayak racing and the very popular sprint dinghy racing run by Jonathan Burns!

Following feedback from members last year we will also be doing a mid-summer prizegiving at the end of the day awarding the trophies won by members in our Sunday Race Series up until that point.

Look out for more details on timings nearer the date.

Well Done Topper Sailors!

Last week Matthew and Ed headed off to Lake Garda to compete in the Topper Worlds! With some challenging conditions, not helped by the unusually unpredictable weather they experienced, they did extremely well, with Ed coming 15th out of 144, and Matthew claiming a very respectable 31st at their first ever international event!

They also picked up their prizes for the Southern Area Traveller Series recently, in which Matthew came 3rd overall, with Ed just behind in 4th!

Next Saturday Ed, Matthew and Ava are heading off to the Topper Nationals in Weymouth, good luck team!

Race Camp 2022

If your young sailor would like to push their racing forwards then why not sign them up for our race camp which starts on Monday! We have a few spaces left, and this is an ideal opportunity for young sailors who have been taking part in our SYT Racing Groups to push their sailing on further! You can sign up at the link below.

Security at Spinnaker Sailing Club

Can we please remind all members and users of Spinnaker Sailing Club to ensure if they are the last to leave the clubhouse to close the door, and lock the car park gates!

If in doubt please close the door/lock the gates as all members have the access codes! New security codes are being emailed to all members today.
