Good Luck at Itchenor Schools Week
This week a number of sailors who train at Spinnaker Sailing Club are taking part in Itchenor Schools Week in Fireflys! Bryanston School and Winchester College have entered, as have club members Max and Lewis in Max's Firefly representing our local secondary school - Ringwood School!
Lost Property
We once again have acquired a large amount of lost property! As we approach the busy summer holiday period we will be clearing out our lost property on Wednesday 12th July. If you are missing anything please check the box before then.
Pursuit Race Sign Offs
It has been fantastic to see so many boats racing this year (including 5 Fireflys sailing on the last 2 Wednesdays)! This does however mean the Race Officer and Assistant Race Officer have more boats to keep track of, and this is a particular challenge when it comes to the finish of Pursuit Races, where the fleet is spread across the lake. Can all Race Officers and racers please ensure that racers sign off, reporting the boat in front and the boat behind them to the Race Officer and Assistant Race Officer after finishing. There are sheets to enable this in the Race Hut, and these must be used to double check pursuit race results.
John our results co-ordinator has had to make several amendments to recent results, and this is taking up a lot of his time. Going forwards unless you have signed off from the Pursuit Race you will not be able to request a review of your race position and score. Please help us to get accurate results by signing off.
Fish and Chips - Wednesday 19th July
Our next Fish and Chips evening is on Wednesday 19th July. Come and join us for racing, then food afterwards, and of course the bar will be open! Look out for an email on Monday 17th July with details of how to order your food.
Club Racer Training This Saturday
Don't forget this Saturday is our Club Racer Training session looking at tactics led by our Chief Instructor (and one of our resident umpires) James. For more details, and to book please click here. There will be a mix of on water and land sessions, all finished off with tea, coffee and cake!
Race Volunteering
A number of members have recently got in touch to say they would like to volunteer to help us run our racing programme, but would like to observe one of our Race Officers running racing first to help them understand how everything works. In the next few weeks we have some very experienced Race Officers who would be happy for you to watch and answer any questions, they are:
Wednesday 5th July from 5pm - Keith
Sunday 9th July from 12.00 - Neil
Wednesday 19th July from 5pm - Tom
