We are halfway through January and what a mix of weather we are having! Everything from freezing fog to some brilliant sunshine and (relatively) warm days! We do seem to be missing the wind regularly but hopefully that will soon change!

Pause in Club Racing!

This Sunday (23rd January) we have races 9 & 10 of our Icicle Series. We then have a pause of two weeks with no club racing on 30th January or 6th February as we are hosting the Wessex Winter Warmer and BUSA Southern Qualifier Team Racing events!

Club racing resumes on Sunday 13th February with races 1 & 2 of our Frostbite Series, with the first start at 10.30 for two back to back handicap races.

Thursday Morning Social!

Our Thursday morning social session has restarted post-Christmas, with a number of members joining us for sailing and paddleboarding followed by a cup of tea! It would be brilliant to see a few more faces so come and join us from 10.30 to 12.30 every Thursday!

Membership Renewals

Thank you to everyone who has either already renewed their membership or been in touch with the office! It is by being a member you get access to our busy programme of training, racing and activities, as well as the ability to hire club equipment, use the lake, and depending on the type of membership you hold store your boat at the club!

Our early bird renewal discount for annual memberships will end at 5pm on Monday 31st January, so don't forget to renew by then to take advantage of the discount!

Assistant Race Officer - Sunday 13th February

We are currently looking for an Assistant Race Officer for Sunday 13th February. If you are able to help out please sign up on the website!

Club Racing Newsletter

Did you know we also have a separate racing newsletter we send out on Fridays? If you would like tor receive this newsletter which includes a few more specific racing updates, as well as regular rules advice and hints and tips please email training@spinnakerclub.co.uk to let us know and we'll add you to the mailing list!

Club Fleet Maintenance

Following our successful year in 2022 several upgrades are planned on our club fleet of sailing dinghies over the next few months ready for the summer! Our Toppers, Lasers and Visions are all in line for some extra special work this winter, along with the regular work we will be doing on all our dinghies ready for the warm weather! Look out for more updates soon.
