Parkstone Youth Week 2022
Last week 12 of our Optimist and Topper sailors headed off to Parkstone Yacht Club for Youth Week 2022!
The week provided a real mix of weather from hot sunny days with little wind to rain and 25 knots on the Thursday, which saw the Blue Fleet kept ashore whilst the White and Red Fleets headed out for some full power racing! All our sailors did brilliantly well, and you can see the full results at this link.
A special mention has to be given to Elena B for winning the "Spirit of Youth Week Award" for her friendliness and support to other competitors on the water!
The dates for Youth Week 2023 have already been released and I know most of our sailors are already asking if they can go again next year!
Optimist Open 2022
Our annual Optimist Open is less than 2 weeks away! We already have 19 sailors entered, with more planning on entering! It is going to be a great day of racing with 7 short races planned, allowing everyone lot's of opportunities! We will have both a Main Fleet for the more experienced racers, and a Regatta Fleet for those who may require the odd hint or tip on the water to help them succeed!

JETS Topper Training 22/23
Last winter Ava, Ed and Matthew took part in the JETS Topper Training Programme, receiving coaching from Paralympic Gold Medallist Helena Lucas across 6 weekends! Applications are now open for this winter's programme! Last week we emailed the parents of those sailors our coaching team though would be interested.

New Blocks of SYT and Let's Go Sailing!
With the start of the new school year in September we also see the return of Spinnaker Youth Training and Let's Go Sailing (including Women's Sailing Groups) Weekly Sessions.

Blashford Barrel 2022!
This Sunday is our Annual Blashford Barrel Fun Day! We have a fantastic programme lined up replicating the success of the last two years! The day's programme can be found below. In a change from last year there will be no food available from the Club (so please bring a picnic) but the bar will be open, and ice lollies available if we have sunny weather!
10.00 - 12.00 : On Water Treasure Hunt, kayak, paddleboard or sail!
12.00 - 13.00 : Kayak and Paddleboard Racing!
14.00 - 16.15 (approximately) : Dinghy Sprint Racing run by Jonathan Burns! First starting signal at 14.00, no race starting after 16.00.
16.45 : Prizegiving for the Blashford Barrel and all Sunday Dinghy Racing Series to date this year!
This day is one of the highlights of the year and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the lake!
