Thursday Volunteering

Don't forget our Thursday volunteers meet at 1pm every Thursday to help keep the Club looking great! This week we have some new fencing to install and gravel to lay, so any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Lake Water Quality

Many visitors to Spinnaker Sailing Club comment on how clean and clear our water is for a lake! This is something we are very proud of. With the recent hot weather there is currently an increased amount of algae in the water.

There is no reason to not use the lake due to the current levels of algae, and we continue to encourage all our members to make use of our fantastic facilities and head out onto the water. However, we would encourage all members to ensure good hand hygiene before eating. The algae can also cause upset stomachs for humans and dogs, and so please be mindful of this.

Topper Nationals!

Last week 3 of our sailors competed at the Topper Nationals in Portland Harbour! All 3 did very well in light and challenging conditions. A big congratulations to Ed Smith for claiming second place in the silver fleet!

You can see the full results here!

Blashford Barrel Fun Day!

Don't forget our annual Blashford Barrel Fun Day, with Summer Prize Giving is on Sunday 28th August. We have a great day planned with a treasure hunt, kayaking and paddleboarding races, and dinghy sprint races! After a day of fun on the water the bar will be open with a prizegiving for all the Sunday Series so far this year!

Look out for further details and timings next week!
