Parkstone Youth Week!

Our young sailors are continuing their adventures next week with 12 taking part in Parkstone Youth Week in their Optimists and Toppers! Apart from racing they've got a great range of activities lined up including Water Wars, BBQs, a Caribbean Party, a trip to Splashdown and more planned! Alongside the Parkstone Yacht Club organised activities, Team Spinnaker (plus a few friends) are heading to Pizza Hut on the Wednesday before the Splashdown trip!

Spinnaker Sailing Club's Committees have generously supported our sailors for Parkstone Youth Week by approving funding from the Youth Development Find to help transport boats to and from Parkstone yacht Club by hiring a Luton Van, and agreeing to loan Parkstone yacht Club two safety boats to support the event and ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants!

How To Carry On Sailing After Your RYA Course!

One of the questions our instructors are regularly asked is what should I do now I have completed my RYA course? It's great to hear that children and adults learning to sail want to carry on afterwards! As a Club we have a great range of activities on offer to support those new to sailing carry on after they've learnt!

Read more about what we have on offer here!

Club Grounds Speed Limits

Can all members, users and visitors of Spinnaker Sailing Club please remember we have a speed limit of 5mph across our entire site! This is in place to help protect all users of Spinnaker Sailing Club, as well as members of the public using the long distance footpath which runs along the western edge of our boatpark, and across both our entrance gates! This speed limit applies as soon as you turn off Ivy Lane either into our southern car park or along the drive towards our northern car park.

To help remind everyone of the speed limits and of the footpath new signs have been installed this week at the turning off Ivy Lane!

Heat Health Alert

With high temperatures forecasted across the next 7 days a second Heat Health Alert has been issued this summer! Currently temperatures are forecasted to reach 35 degrees plus by the end of the week, and it could end up being even hotter!

Please keep yourself and your children safe by staying hydrated, wearing plenty of suncream, and keeping covered up. Spinnaker Sailing Club strongly recommends against bare shoulders/backs whilst afloat at this time.

Sunday 14th August - Request for Help!

We currently do not have a Safetyboat Driver for Sunday 14th August to enable our afternoon of Club Racing to happen! If anyone is able to help fill this slot please let us know!

Neil our our Lead Instructor/Administrator is currently rostered as Race Officer so if you are not qualified to drive the safetyboat but would be happy to take over the role of Race Officer Neil can become the Safetyboat Driver. Please send an email to training@spinnakerclub.co.uk if this is something you can help with.

Team Racing Training for Adults

Our Team Racing adult sailors are heading out this evening for another evening of training and fun! We have several more dates planned across Septemeber and October, in readiness for the Spinnaker Sailing Club run Twisted Tube Random Pairs and Firefly Open Weekend, and the team racing events early in 2023! If you would like to join in or would like some more information please speak to Emma Barker, Neil Marshall, Tom Clay or James Oborne!
