Wessex Winter Warmer 2023!
A fantastic Wessex Winter Warmer 2023 was run by Southampton University Sailing Club with race management support from Ksail.
Sadly the wind did not appear on Saturday and so no racing was run. Following an early start on Sunday the team managed to fit in 103 races, with all entered teams getting to sail 10 races, before a best of 3 final between RTYC White and Paddington Bears, with RTYC Blue just edging ahead for a 2:1 win in the final!
Following the prizegiving we were delighted to name our two committee boats "Greg" and "Tiggy" in recognition of all the support provided by Greg and Tiggy Ansell over many years to Spinnaker Sailing Club and Team Racing as a sport, with a Greg a well known Umpire, and Tiggy having been a key member of the finish boat crew at many events.
2023 Annual Membership Renewals!
If you haven't renewed yet then today is the last day to renew your membership for 2023 and take advantage of our early bird renewal rate, prices for membership and boat storage will go up tomorrow!
Remember you must be a member:
- Store a boat on site
- Join in Club Racing
- Hire Club boats, kayaks and paddleboards
- Take part in our training courses and activities
All members who have not renewed yet were sent a reminder email this morning, with a link to take you to the renewals page on our website.
BUSA Team Racing Qualifiers 2023!
This Saturday and Sunday we are hosting the Southern Qualifiers of the BUSA Team Racing Championship 2023, organised by the University of Portsmouth Sailing Club!
There will be no club racing or recreational access to the lake on 4th/5th February due to this event. 5 of the 16 teams entered train at Spinnaker Sailing Club! If you have never seen team racing before this is a great opportunity to come and watch some happen!
Social Sailing This Thursday!
Don't forget Thursday's social sailing session starts at 10.30, and this week we have cake for afterwards as a special treat!
Tree Maintenance - North Boat Park
On Wednesday 1st February (tomorrow) Apex Tree Surgeons will be working along the boundary fence of our northern boat park, managing and maintaining the trees. Members will still be able to access our full site, but please be aware that heavy machinery will be operating.
