Weekly Club News - 2nd January 2024

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! We hope you had a good Christmas period. It was wonderful to see 21 boats out on the water for our New Years Day Race yesterday. Congratulations to Tom and Monty for winning the Main and Junior Fleets respectively.

Bill Bacon Award 2023

Those of you who came to our AGM will already know that Phil Hoggart received the Bill Bacon Award in recognition of his great work over the last couple of years helping to maintain our club grounds, and doing multiple race duties. Unfortunately Phil was unable to attend the AGM, however he did come to the Club just before Christmas and we were very happy to present him his trophy. Thank you for all your efforts Phil!

2024 Membership Renewals
Thank you to everyone who has already renewed their membership for 2024! Annual memberships and boat berths allocations expire on 31st December. There is a discount available on membership renewals if these are completed by 31st January 2024, the prices will increase on 1st February. You can see all the details for your renewal here.Don't forget there is the option for those of you who have annual memberships to pay by monthly direct debit. If you have a Winter Membership then you will be contacted in March about the options as your membership approaches the end of it's term.

2024 Duty Roster
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered for duties in 2024 already. We strongly encourage members to sign up for their duties early so you have dates which are suitable for you! If you are unsure of which duties are suitable for you please speak to a member of staff or the Sailing Committee, and we have lots of training available this year if you would like to develop your skills, such as this RYA Powerboat Level 2 course this weekend which still has space available.

Plumbing Issues
Over the Christmas period unfortunately our boiler has developed a fault. An engineer is booked to fix the issue on Friday, however, until that point we have no running hot water. We apologise for this inconvenience, please consider the effect of this if you wish to sail this week.
