Wednesday Evening Racing is Back for 2026!
With lighter evenings we are very excited that Wednesday Evening Racing restarts tomorrow!
A couple of small tweaks have been made to Wednesday evenings for this year based on feedback from 2025. The key change is that the pursuit races will now start at 1845, minimising hanging around and waiting between races!

2026 Spinnaker Youth Training
Spinnaker Youth Training returns for 2026 with the first block of 6 weeks starting on Sunday 12th April (this week)! We will be running 3 groups in the first block:
RYA Beginners - Perfect for those who are taking their first steps and want to work towards RYA Stage 1 or 2 in the Youth Sailing Scheme.
Improvers - For those sailors who have an ability equal to RYA Youth Stage 2 or 3 and want to consolidate their skills, have fun and get into the habit of siling regularly.
Racing - Combining our Begin to Race and Improver Racing groups we will work with sailors to build their confidence, racing knowledge, boat handling skills and speed to help them enjoy success around the race course.
Westuit/Drysuit Rule
As April has now arrived (with some very welcome sunshine) the Wetsuit/Drysuit Rule has now been relaxed, and these items are no longer compulsory to wear when out on the lake. However, the water still remains relatively cold, and all members should continue to consider wearing wetsuits, drysuits or other thermally insulating clothing to ensure their own comfort, safety and enjoyment!
New Model Yachting Session
Following our successful day time model yachting sessions we are delighted to announce we will be offering a Monday evening Model Yachting Session every week from Monday 13th April until September (when the evenings become a bit too dark).

ILCA Open
Our ILCA Open is on Saturday 18th April, just a few weeks away. If you are a regular ILCA sailor please get involved and enjoy a great day of racing. If you don't normally sail an ILCA we can help, with all three of our club boats available. You can see more details and enter here.
Please be aware the lake will be closed for general access on this day due to this event.
How to Stay In Touch
Don't forget a really good way to stay in touch with other members is our Whatsapp Community, there are different groups within the community for each of our main classes, as well as the SYT Parents Group and a Kayaking/Paddleboarding Group.
