Thank You!
First of all a massive thank you to everyone who came and supported our Spring Work Party on Saturday! Our team of 35 volunteers have made a huge difference to the club grounds through their hard work in beautiful weather conditions. Jobs completed include loading a skip, weeding the patio, lowering the hedge and clearing the leaves behind the clubhouse amongst others!
We will be holding two more work parties later this year to keep the club looking great, look out for the dates soon.
Save The Dates!
We are rapidly approaching the start of the main sailing season and we have several things happening we would like to remind members of:
- Welcome to New Members and Information Evening: Wednesday 3rd April A chance for all members, old and new to learn about the Club's plans for 2024, meet the committee and learn how to get the most out of their membership this year.
- Spinnaker Youth Training Restarts: Sunday 14th April Our regular youth coaching resumes, book online now!
- Meet The Main Committee: Sunday 14th April Alongside our SYT coaching and racing the Main Committee will be at the club to meet members and answer any questions you may have.
2024 Race Duties
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to support our race programme already for 2024. If you have not volunteered yet please sign up soon! Volunteering is a great way to learn more about racing as well as meeting new members.
In particular we are urgently looking for some help in the galley for the RYA/BUSA Women's Team Racing Championships on 16/17 March to help serve hot drinks.
Water Temperature
Many of us enjoyed the warm weather on Saturday and Sunday, making the most of the beautiful conditions out on the lake. Can we please remind everyone the water is still very cold, even if the air is starting to warm up! All sailors, windsurfers and paddlers must wear a wetsuit whilst afloat until at least the 1st April, and we recommend continuing to wear one after that while the water temperature remains "fresh"!
Boat Park Moves
Following the purchase of our new flight of Fireflys, and new members bringing new boats to the club, we have reviewed where boats are currently stored. Several will be moved this week to new locations. If your boat is being moved you will be contacted directly by the staff team to inform you of it's new berth.
