Topper Traveller Report

It was a brilliant sight on Sunday with 39 Toppers racing around the lake! We are very proud of all our youth sailors who entered. You can see a full report on our website here.

Easter Holiday Courses

The school Easter Holidays are just one week away! We still have a few spaces available on our RYA Stage 3 and 4 courses, and on Learn to Windsurf! After a winter of being stuck inside this is a great chance to get your children outdoors and back on the water!

You can book via the calendar on the club website.

New Race Hut Gantry

As part of our on-going improvements programme the old flag gantry has been replaced with a new metal one! Several changes have been made including a new higher pole for the Orange Flag to be flown from above all other flags, new higher pole for our weather station, as well as the signal flags now being higher than the race hut roof!

Sponsorship Opportunity

We have an upcoming opportunity to sponsor the soon to be expanded range of club sailing prizes. So do talk to your family, or your sailing colleagues, if you think supporting a club prize could be for you. Details will follow shortly there are plenty of options for you to consider. There are extensive plans being put together, and we want our Club Members to be involved! Please speak to John Driscoll our Results Co-Ordinator or Phil Tinsley the Commodore for further information.

Requests For Help!

Phil the Commodore has a number of jobs/tasks on-going he would greatly appreciate some support with!

1.We used to have catering at the Club, and for many reasons we do not now. Does any member have experience of, or know someone with, running catering businesses? All we want is some guidance and suggestions. Please contact me is you can help the Club.

2.We are resurrecting the Club's tree management scheme, and are seeking some tree expertise. Tree surveyors would be ideal, but any expertise in this area would be much appreciated.

3.We have a number of wooden tables in the clubroom, which are in need of a sand down and a re-varnish. On a still warm day in April/May, I am seeking volunteers to help a) by bringing another good sander (I have a splendid rotary one curtesy of my father) b) by coming along to do the cleaning down c) come along to do the varnishing. I envisage the sanding going on at one end under the awnings, cleaning down at the other, and varnishing in the clubroom. Please contact me if you could help.

Phil's email address is commodore@spinnakerclub.co.uk
