John is the longest serving member of the Club having joined in 1970 and has been passing on his recollections to be part of the Club History that John Clarke is collating. John started and ran the Junior Training and Oppie Camps from 1975 to 1998 on an entirely voluntary basis. In addition to this he built in his garage over 50 wooden Optimist dinghies, 20 complete and 30 kits that went all over the country and to Australia and the USA. He also built two Solos and was instrumental in getting the class adopted at Spinnaker. An excellent sailor himself he has always offered his help. advice and encouragement to others.

Unfortunately, due to poor eyesight, John can't get to the Club as often as he would like. We all send him and Mrs Noble our best wishes for 2025.
