Easter greetings from Spinnaker

Easter Greetings from Spinnaker

I hope that you are all keeping well in these strange and challenging times. There is no quick fix to this one, but we must follow the recommendations from the Government and NHS.

I know that a lot of our members work in the health and care services. I am sure that everyone in the Club sends them our thanks and best wishes.

Although the Club is closed there is a lot going on behind the scenes to ensure that when the current restrictions are relaxed that we can provide top quality racing and training at very short notice. The Sailing Committee and James Oborne our new Chief Instructor are working hard on these plans. We are also exploring the possibility of some virtual racing, and I hope that this will be going live soon.

Any similar ideas gratefully received.

James has been doing sterling work bringing the Club's own fleet of dinghy and power boats up to top condition. He is also putting a lot of time intotidying and sorting the boat park . following up on Phil Tinsley's splendid piece of detective work to identify all the boats in the park. The process of relabelling all the spaces is under way and the nice new boat stickers have arrived ready to be applied to paid for boats.

Please say safe and sane, and hopefully we will back sailing before too long.

Please feel free to contact me if you have concerns on commodore@spinnakerclub.co.uk

All my best wishes

Hywel
