Memorial Race - Wednesday 15th June 2022

Published 12:05 on 13 Jun 2022
Wednesday 15th June is this year's Memorial Race, raced in memory of members no longer with us, and to raise funds for Macmillan Caring Locally, one of our local hospice providers. The winner of the Memorial Race will receive the Geoff Fardell Trophy, named in memory of a former Rear Commodore House, whose family were heavily involved in the Club, with his daughter Emily sailing here, before becoming one of our instructors for a number of years.
Simon Walworth, one of our former Commodores has kindly agreed to return for the evening as our Race Officer. The final race of the Wednesday A Handicap Series will start at 5.45pm as normal, before the Memorial Pursuit Race begins at 7pm, finishing after exactly 60 minutes. After racing we will be having Fish and Chips at approximately 8.30pm, along with a short prizegiving, and the bar will be open.
As this race is to raise funds for Macmillan Caring Locally we ask all entrants to the Memorial Race to make a donation either via the club website, or in cash on the evening.
To book your Fish and Chips and/or make a donation please follow the link below to the club website. Donations can be made at any time, but Fish and Chips must be ordered by 1200 on Wednesday 15th June so they can be pre-ordered.

This race is a long standing tradition at the club and we would encourage all members to come and join us for the evening.
Should you have any questions please do get in touch, and we hope to see everyone on Wednesday.
