Super Laser days. There are 13 days where we'll try and 'push the boat out' so to speak. If you can only manage the odd day's sailing - try and make it one or more of these. 3 will be training Saturdays, 2 normal Sundays, 3 Wednesday evenings then the Endurance Race and the Laser Open (Saturdays) and the two Club Championship Sundays. We'll stoke up the bbq, open the bar and make it a bit more social.

To try and improve our sailing, I will again allocate all who want to, in to teams of three - an 'A' helm captain, a 'B' helm mentor and a C/D helm mentee.

The Super Laser Series for the Death Star Cookie Jar trophy will be scored from the 13 Super Laser days asa team. The additional Laser sailing instructions will be on the website as last year.

Training. There will he three Saturdays: on 9 Apr, 9 Jul and 8 Oct. 1st focus on boat speed, 2nd on boat handling and 3rd on race tactics. There will be several short races to finish the days. On the second, this will be team racing. I will also run an hour training session 11:00 on Sundays aligned with SYT when I can make it - SYT starts on 24 Apr - again rotating round same 3 themes; boat speed, handling, race tactics.

For the 8-hour Endurance Race on 4 Jun, it would be great to try and get out as Death Star teams - recognising that getting al three together may be tricky - so blobbing up as necessary.

Getting a full turn out the following Sat at our Open Meeting would also be great. This is for all levels of experience; you don't need to be a rock star! There will be separate fleets for each sail size. 12 of us made it last year. Can we better that?

The Heavyweather series will run again in 2022. Any race starting in a F5 or above will qualify from Frostbite through to the AGM. Note, I am hopeful that the Supplemental Sailing Instructions may include running timed laps even if normal racing is abandoned.

So next up, I'll need to sort out Death Star teams. Expect some comms to follow on this very shortly.

If you have received this and are not on the WhatsApp laser group but would to be, please email me at Laser@spinnakerclub.co.uk
