Apprentice Instructor Vacancy!
We have this week started to advertise a vacancy for an Apprentice Instructor, with the programme planned to start in September this year. This is a great opportunity to complete a Level 3 Outdoor Activity Instructor Apprenticeship with the opportunity to gain your RYA Dinghy Instructor, RYA Safetyboat Certificate, Paddle UK Paddlesport Instructor and more!

Spinnaker Youth Training Update
Sunday saw an awesome end to Block 1 of Spinnaker Youth Training 2024! Our sailors were treated to champagne conditions with sunshine and a great north easterly breeze! As well as our groups where the focus is on racing or consolidating previously learnt skills this block we also ran an RYA Stage 1 course, and we were delighted to award all 6 in that group their Stage 1 today! During this block we were also joined by a number of sailors from Parkstone Yacht Club in our Improver Group as they developed their Optimist sailing skills! After the morning training session a number of the sailors, their parents and coaches headed out to take part in race 1 before a BBQ!

We know that when the sun comes out and it warms up, like it has recently, it's tempting to jump into the lake to cool off with a quick swim. However, can we please remind all members that our lease specifically prohibits swimming in the lake, and with the number of craft we have on the water it also poses an additional safety risk.

Racing Update
Lots has been going on in the dinghy racing world recently! This weekend we completed our Spring Sunday Series, with Keith McQuillin winning the morning series for the adults, and Monty winning amongst the juniors. In the afternoon Ian Hickman took the win. You can see all the results here.
Meanwhile amongst our travelling sailors Ian Matthews recently won the Frensham Pond Solo Open Meeting, while Lewis and Emily were at the Topper National Series Event 4 this weekend at Poole Yacht Club.
