Thank You!

On Saturday, 3 worthy club members volunteered to plant our new hedging along the boundary to Ivy Lane. Dick Meredith, Phil Hoggart and Natasha Styles, hindered by the hobbling Commodore, used a powered auger to create the holes to put the container grown native hedge plants in. Working remarkably quickly, the hedge from the Workshops/stores to the Wanderers was done before coffee, and the top of the property beyond the flights of team racing University boats before lunchtime. Well done to you all.

The bare rooted hawthorns are due shortly to complete an excellent job.

Winter Staffing Hours

Following a couple of questions recently a quick reminder of when the Club is definitely manned by staff and boats are available to hire:

Sunday to Thursday 9am to 4.30pm.

On Fridays and Saturdays there may be staff on site dependent upon any organised activities taking place. Please remember club craft may only be hired when staff are on site.

Social Sailing

Don't forget we run Social Sailing every Thursday from 10.30 to 12.30! We are planning on running a special Christmas Social Sailing on Thursday 21st December with after sailing refreshments!

Women's Team Racing National Championships 2024

We are very excited to be hosting the RYA and BUSA Women's National Team Racing Championships on 16th/17th March 2024! This event has run for many years and we are delighted to be supporting it once again. There are spaces for up to 18 teams to compete. The event has it's own page on the Ksail Events Portal here. On here you can see the Notice of Race, Request an Invite to the event, and will be able to view the results live during the competition!

The following weekend we are hosting UKTRA 2024, the UK Team Racing National Championships, look out for more news about this event soon.

2024 Programme

Our Sailing Committee have been very busy over the last couple of months listening to feedback from our members, and looking at what we can do to make 2024 a year of fantastic sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and paddleboarding! Our website calendar has been fully loaded with all our planned activities, and it is here you can also book onto any events. All our training can be booked now, and our Open Meetings will be opening for booking in the new year.

2023 AGM and Winter Prizegiving

Don't forget our 2023 Annual General Meeting is on Sunday 3rd December! Come and join us to hear from our Main Committee about how 2023 has gone, and the plans for 2024 and beyond, as well as ask them any questions you may have! Following the AGM we will be having our Winter Prizegiving where our Sailing Committee will be presenting prizes for racing since August, and our annual achievement awards. As this year is Spinnaker Sailing Club's 65th birthday everyone who comes to the AGM will get a free drink to help us celebrate this milestone!
