Winter Programme

Our winter programme is now available to view on the club website! Our race programme (with duties open for volunteering) and training the club is running can be viewed on the club calendar. We also have some other exciting opportunities for our members with evening talks, Class Association training, and a new Social Sailing offering!

You can read more details on our website here!

Car Park Speed Limit

Can all members and users of Spinnaker Sailing Club remember there is a 5mph speed limit on site! 5mph is approximately a fast walking pace. Please keep to this speed for the safety of all our members, users and staff.

Please also remember that the drive up to our northern gate between the clubhouse and the house is also a public footpath which is very heavily used by members of the public!

Preparing Your Boat for Winter

With windier weather now a regular feature of our lives can we please remind all members to ensure their boat is secured to the ground to prevent it blowing over, this is to protect your boat, and the others near it. We also strongly recommend removing any sails from boats to discourage any furry friends making nests for the winter.

If you have a boat you would like to store upside down over the winter and would like some help tipping it please speak to any of the instructor team and they will be happy to help.

RNLI Pennant Regatta

This Sunday sees our annual one day event in aid of the RNLI! I am sure as water users we will all agree this is a very worthy cause. We ask for a donation from anyone who enters the race, and there will be a tin for collecting these at the race hut on the day.

Club Equipment Hire Winter Hours

As we approach the winter period, with less daylight, the hours when club equipment hire is available will be reduced.

With effect from Sunday 31st October all Club Equipment such as dinghies, kayaks and paddleboards must be ashore no later than 4pm. From Monday 1st November Club Equipment hire will not be available on Fridays or Saturdays.

On Sundays equipment will be available to hire, must be collected no later than 10am, as Neil who will be on duty will be supporting our winter racing programme and otherwise engaged from 10am.

During the Christmas School holidays there will also be very limited options to hire equipment as our staff team take some time off.

Club Race Officer Training

We are looking to run some training for any member who would like to develop the skills and knowledge to be a Club Race Officer. If anyone is interested in this please speak to James, Les or Tom and we will look to arrange a time/format which will work for the most people possible.
