New Training Programme

Published 14:45 on 20 Nov 2020

While none of us can get out on the lake at the moment we are looking forwards to getting activity up and running again!

To help members see what is on offer (hopefully from 3rd December) there is a programme attached at the bottom of this page as a PDF, with a layout to help find a course by name/activity rather than date. Booking for activities in December 2020, and January/February will open as soon as clarity is received from the government on the easing of restrictions. All other RYA courses will open for booking on 1st January 2021, along with the Spring blocks of Spinnaker Youth Training, Ladies Sailing and Adult Improvers groups.

As we continue to learn and develop from 2020 a few of the changes lined up for 2021 include:

  • More groups using Fevas for Spinnaker Youth Training
  • More flexibility in boats being used on Spinnaker Youth Training sessions
  • Evening Adult Improvers Groups on Tuesdays
  • Ladies Sailing running through the Winter.

As we continue to live with Covid-19 we will be increasing our use of face coverings on the water. Following some practical testing earlier this Autumn we will be providing everyone on our doublehanded training sessions or powerboat training courses with a Zhik face mask, see here the findings of our testing!

For 2021 we have had to increase some prices slightly due to the higher costs of running smaller groups and the use of sanitising products on our boats. However, the upside of smaller groups is better quality tuition, so great for those taking part as they look to improve.

Should you have any questions about the training that is planned or would like some advice on what is planned please get in contact with James - training@spinnakerclub.co.uk
