Spinnaker Sailing Club Covid-19 Lockdown Announcement.
Following the Prime Minister's announcement of a national lockdown in England from 5th November 2020 the Management Committee of Spinnaker Sailing Club has agreed the following:-
Spinnaker Club will be closed for 4 weeks from 00:01 Thursday 5th November.
This is to protect all our members, our staff and the public in general.
The government has specifically stated that all sports and leisure facilities must close. The RYA is seeking clarification of whether this includes sailing clubs. Unless exemptions are put in place the Management Committee feels that there is no option but to close the Club to all members until the end of the lockdown period, currently 2nd December 2020. This is not a step that we have taken lightly and it will be reviewed regularly.
As from the 5th November the gate and clubhouse will be locked and entry codes will be changed. Entry to the Club site will be prohibited except in exceptional circumstances.
We are in the process of suspending all racing and training activities during the lockdown period. We will be in direct contact if you have already booked a session. Obviously craft rental will not be allowed either.
In view of the inclement weather it may be wise to check your boat before the lockdown. James and Abbi will be keeping an eye on the boat park but
If you have a specific concern and can not get to the Club before Thursday then contact the club using email@example.com or by phone on 01425 483692
We will keep you informed as events evolve. Spinnaker Club apologises for the inconvenience and disappointment that this email will bring but we truly believe that there is no alternative at the moment.
Youcan contact the Commodore on firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to leave feed back.
